A Mother's Day Gift

The mothers of the 12u Powerballers were given an unexpected gift when their sons took home the Mother’s Day Classic championship at Diamond Nation.

After a difficult weekend in the previous tournament the team was able to refocus during practice from the help of hitting coordinator Justin Pacchioli.

“The week leading up to the Diamond Nation tournament, we really focused on attacking the outside pitch. A lot of the boys didn’t know they could hit the ball that well so showing them they could during the week and reminding them to hit the ball to their North Star really paid off! Super proud of their preparation last week and it showed over the weekend !”

Clemente Cintron took home tournament MVP launching 3 home runs while Jaxson Kreider also launched an opposite field homer in the championship game. Runs were not in short supply on the weekend as the Powerballers won 21-3 in the final game!

“Heading into the tournament we had talked a lot about focus. Both the coaches and players worked hard this week at practice, setting different goals individually, and for the team! I am proud of the effort from the team this weekend from the first pitch to the last!”

- Head Coach Anthony Martino
